A really lovely morning and when I got to the hot pools they were steaming, I have never seen them like that. It wasn't because they were so hot, although it was warmer than last week, I think it must have had something to do with air conditions. It was really funny as we couldn't see the people down at the other end of the pool or the teacher when she moved from one end to the other! But it was a good class and then Les and I went for a coffee.
When I got back I met my neighbour, Linda, and we had a chat about our other neighbour who is very ill with cancer and not doing very well.
I had a letter from the hospital with a date for my op of next Wednesday. Strange how I was told by the secretary that it would be months and then I write to tell the doctor about my concerns at having to wait and hey presto I am given a date. It is not the best time really as it is only a week before we go to Thailand so I hope it all heals well. After making a fuss I haven't the nerve to ring and try and change it and anyway I need to get it sorted as it worries me.
Margaret, who I met last week at the keep fit lunch, had left a message for me to call her. She wanted to go out for a walk and I said I would but that Jon was just about due home and so we arranged to go after lunch.
When Jon had gone back I called Margaret and walked up to meet her and then we walked back to Rotary Park. The tide was in and the dog had a little play and then we walked back through the woods as Margaret has never been that way as she is usually on her own and it is not nice to go up there on your own.
We came back here and had a cup of tea and a chat. She was telling me her husband built a boat and they were going to sail around the world but she got cold feet so they moved to live in Devon and used the boat at weekends. They used to come out here to visit her daughter and son in law and liked it so moved here in 2001but sadly her husband died three years ago. She is happy here though as her son and daughter in law have also moved out here so she would have no family in UK.
I can't believe we had the fire on yesterday, we had to open the patio doors tonight as it was so warm! And this is the second day of winter!
I made a lovely dinner tonight it was chicken with oregano, red pepper, onion and chick peas and then crumbled feta on top to serve and it was sooo good.
WEATHER
After all the rain yesterday we had beautiful sunshine and 18 degrees again.
