A nice night out with the golf ladies

It started to rain about midnight last night and it came down in torrents and rained all night. The new is saying there are lots of closed roads and flooding so no walk for Totty this morning.

I braved the rain and went to my keep fit class and enjoyed that so was glad I went.

Went to look for a top to go with my new cardigans but couldn't find anything and didn't feel like going too far in the wet weather so went home.

It felt so damp and cold when I got back I decided to light the fire, our first this year. It got going really well and warmed the house up and by the time Jon got home for lunch it was nice and cosy.

I manged to get Totty out about 4.30 as it had stopped but still looked very dark. I made a spaghetti sauce as I had my golf evening to go to.

I had my dinner at 6.00 as I had to leave at 6.30 so left Jon's ready for him.

The Sebel Hotel where the evening was help is very nice and I was pleased to see one of the ladies from our group waiting in the entrance and then a few more arrived so we all went in together and sat at a table near the front. We had a glass of sparkling wine and there were some very nice nibbles to go with it.

They had three speakers, one from the Heart Foundation telling us how to eat healthily, one from a health spa (she was actually one of the ladies in our group for golf) telling us all about skin and all sorts of things. Unfortunately the elastic in her skirt broke as she was talking to us and her skirt fell down. It was so funny! She got down so fast and pulled it up and took it all in good fun, her sister was on our table and she said she would make sure the family got to know about it. We then had a lovely young girl who was so nervous she kept giggling and she was telling us about hair and face shape. The final speaker was an American who lives here and does image styling, your best colours to wear and all that sort of thing and she too was very good. They had the photos from our lessons projected on a big screen though the evening and it felt very strange seeing yourself up on the screen every now and again!

We were all given a goody bag with lots of nice things in, like a vouchers for a massage, a spine assessment, a beauty session, a lip balm, a cookery magazine and lots of other little bits and pieces. The evening ended at 10.00 and we all decided to meet up to play a few holes and then go for lunch one day.

When I got home the house felt so warm. Jon had had to open the living room door to let the heat out into the bedroom. Well at least the rain has stopped now.

WEATHER
Heavy rain since last night, poured all day till about 4.00, lots of flooding
