Shopping day

After all the rain we have had I finally managed to get two loads of washing done this morning before taking the dog out.

I subscribe to Dish magazine which is a really lovely food and recipe magazine out every two months. On the letters page there is a really nice Jamie Oliver griddle up for grabs if you get your letter printed. I sent an email telling them how much I liked the magazine and went on a bit about it and happened to mention that I had managed to find two back issues at a book sale. I sent the email and within minutes I received a reply from the editor telling me I had made her mornings and she said to let her know which copies I was short of and she would see what she could find. I then replied and said that she, too, had made my day with her reply and told her which issues I had and she then replied to say she would get something sorted out for me. I was bowled over by the speed of the reply and the generosity. Now I will have to wait and see what I get. Whatever, she sends will be welcome as they are such lovely magazines with lovely recipes and the photos just make you want to cook the dishes. Jon has never eaten so well since we were first married and I was trying to impress!

I then went out and had a coffee before doing the supermarket shop. When I got back it was just about lunch time and Jon was back.

In the afternoon I went into Tauranga to look for a top to go with the two cardigans I bought. I looked everywhere for something to match but didn't have much luck and ended up with one black top and I made the decision to take the grey cardigan back as I am not sure it is me. It was really warm walking around and I didn't even have a jacket on!

I also popped into the library to get some books. The three dollar fine I had on my card last time has been taken off. They have just put a new system in and I had renewed my books online but it hadn't registered and so I emailed them. I hadn't had a reply so was surprised that it had just been taken off but that is fine by me.

Got back and fed Totty and then went out for a walk. The sky was really beautiful. There were big rosy coloured clouds mixed in with some grey ones and it was really lovely but looks like we might be in for some rain later.

Cooked some fish for dinner, gurnard, really good but I found a little bone in it, most unusual.

Enjoying Coronation Street now we are up to where we left it when we came over here. We also have Dancing on Ice. It started last week and I record it as Jon doesn't like it so I enjoy it with a cup of tea one afternoon through the week.

WEATHER
Really warm again today with some light cloud later in the afternoon
