We both slept really well last night and Bertie only woke me once!! Looks like there are three in this marriage now!!!
We have moved all of Jon's things to the bathroom downstairs to save him going up and down the stairs as he is finding it difficult and painful and the shower is easier to get into.
Shortly after breakfast the district nurse, Gill, arrived and she took the dressings off his bottom and he felt much better as they were pulling a lot and he now finds walking a little easier. She helped him change his bag but the new, one piece, bags have not arrived yet so we are still with the bigger ones. His stoma is very large, about the size of a large egg and will take about six weeks to shrink and 'calm down'. It is one thing for us to go into fits of giggles when it happens but Jon is going to find it embarrassing if/when it happens in meetings.
I went out to buy us some coffee and then we sat and watched the first part of the James Herriot series which was really good.
I took Totty out for her walk and it was really lovely and sunny outside.
I am finding it a little boring at the moment as I can't go anywhere or do the usual things I do and feel like a loose part but I am sure it will get better.
I made lunch and then Jon decided to go for a sleep about 3.00 and he didn't wake again till just after 6.00. I lit the fire as the sun went in and it gets cold here in this house without sunshine.
My friend Sharon called to see how things are going and we had a chat and then I made dinner. I am not sure how Jon stayed away to eat it as he was so tired. He went to bed early and I am sure that is the best thing for him.
I watched some TV and now it is bedtime for me, too.
WEATHER
Sunny spells 17 degrees.
