I had a little lie in this morning but when I got up Jon was lying on the sofa as he had woken early and couldn't get back to sleep. He also told me he had stopped his morphine yesterday and he was feeling rough again! He shouldn't have stopped it like that he should have reduced the dose so no wonder he is feeling bad. At least it has shown him that it works and he needs it. He also tried to sleep on the side of the bed without the blow up mattress, that didn't work either!!! Patience Jon!!!
I showered and just as I came downstairs the gardener, Mark, came with his son, Deltram, to give us a quote for the grass. He looked around and then said $42 (£21) and asked me if that was OK. When we moved in here the agent wanted $60 to cut it so of course it was OK. He told me his son would come back later to do it.
I made scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast and then had a call from Sharon to say she would come round later with Des to see Jon. I was just about to go into Tauranga and then Jane called to have a chat which was nice.
I went to the sports shop, Kathmandu, and bought an inflatable camping cushion for Jon. As we can't get the other one repaired till Monday hopefully it will help.
I brought some coffees back and we had a cake with them and I then hung a load of washing out.
Sharon and Des arrived and pretty soon after the gardener came. He is such a happy chap. His father looks European but he is definitely Maori and has that lovely slow way of speaking, its like singing.
Jon really cheered up chatting to Des and Sharon, they are such a lovely couple and they stayed till about 1.30.
We had lunch and the gardener was still out mowing the grass. He trimmed all the edges, blew it all onto the grass and mowed it up, he cut the bit outside the front and took it all away with him and it took him well over two hours. I was going to give him some extra, to buy a beer, as it was long with not being cut for about a month but he didn't knock to say he had finished and for the money so not sure when he will come for it. He has done a really good job and was so happy doing it.
We had lunch and then Jon went and sat on the sun lounger in the garden as it was so lovely and sunny. It has made a big difference to him being able to sit in different places and the cushion is working well.
I cooked beef ragu for dinner and I made a really rich chocolate dessert which was yummy but in small portions. It was supposed to have brandy in it but as Jon is not allowed alcohol I had to leave it out but I will pour some Baileys on mine. I made six little pots and then put some chilli powder in the rest so have two with chilli, I love chilli chocolate but it might be too spicy for Jon at the moment.
I put some photos on Facbebook but they have changed how you do it and it seemed to take forever but I am nearly up to date now.
We had dinner and watched some TV. I had just logged on to do my blog and Heather called for a chat which wa nice and unexpected. I need to try and make my blog more interesting as she says it is boring Lol but as I am not doing much I can't help it.
I am off to bed now and need to remember to change the clocks. Yeah! Summer is not far off now.
WEATHER
Sunny 20 degrees
