Cancer Walk Day

We woke to a lovely, clear, sunny day, perfect for a walk along the beach.

I got up and had breakfast and was rushing a round a bit to leave things organised and Jon asked me for help with Bertie. I said OK but the next thing I knew he was asking me to check if it was OK. It wasn't! It was not stuck down properly underneath. I asked him why he hadn't told me he was ready and he said I sounded as if I didn't want to do it!!!! Not the case at all and he needs to not be so touchy. It had to come off and we started again and I did it.

I went off out to meet the people for the walk and we had a good turn out with about 25 people. A mixed group with some friends from keep fit, swimming, Lions ladies, friends and people from Genera. We set off walking and it was all very nice to chat to people along the way.

We arrived at the Mount stopped for a rest and a chat and then set off back arriving at 11.45. We then went across to the cafe for a coffee. I showed Elizabeth the wedding photos and then Lisa had a look at them.

Lisa said we collected $180 today and I think she said she has already got $800 from donations which is very good.

I got back home just before 1.00 and made lunch for Jon. I then took Totty out and came back and had my lunch.

We spent the afternoon watching TV. and Jon started a jigsaw puzzle, he is getting very bored now and his bottom is very sore.

I made a coconut cake for tea which was OK but as it was fat free it was a bit rubbery. I think I will have to put some lemon drizzle on it tomorrow or it will be too dry. I had to light the fire as these clear days mean cold nights.

I cooked lamb leg steaks for dinner which were very nice.

We watched some TV and then Jon noticed he had a leak which we sorted out. I will buy a mattress cover tomorrow just in case. I have put a towel under the sheet for now but it is better to be ready just in case anything happens, I hadn't thought about it till now.

Heather's walk will be under way now and I hope it all goes well for her.

WEATHER
Sunny 17 degrees
