After putting my blog on last night I stayed up sorting photos out and gave my elderly neighbour a call to see how her sister was. She told me she was due out of hospital today and would stay with her for one night and then go back to her own house. Rene sounded fine and was happy to hear from me.
While I was trying to sort out the photos Totty had been running up and down and I thought she just wanted to go to bed an so I told her to lie down. Unfortunately, it was more than that and she suddenly did a poo by my feet. I let her out and she came back and while I was cleaning up the mess she was sick. I assume she ha a bad tummy due to the change of food from the kennel stuff. Although she has lost over a kilo she looks much better and I hope to keep her like this.
I had a bad night again last night and woke often through the night so was glad when it was 6.30 and Jon got up and so did I.
Jon told me that he had woken at 3.30 as Totty was jumping up on the bed. I think she might have tried to wake me but I was dead to the world so she went to him which must have been a first. He said he let her out but she was also sick indoors, poor little dog.
Jon watched the recording of the Grand Prix while he had breakfast and then went to work.
I have put Totty on rice and chicken soup till she is better.
As it was so cold and windy and wet and the house felt like an icebox I lit the fire and Totty spent pretty much the whole day asleep in front of it.
I did some washing and dried it in the dryer as the weather was awful with some really strong gusts of wind, which are quite scary, and very heavy rain with lots of flood warnings.
I spent the afternoon ironing and catching up with Neighbours. Bronwyn called and we had a chat but I won't get to see her as she is off to Fiji on Wednesday for a week. The photos her sister sent to me for her 60 birthday have still not arrived!
I had some nice emails from friends saying welcome back and I also had a long chat with Wendy who is president of our Lions Club this year. I am surprised I managed to get s much ironing done.
My neighbour, Helen, came round with some post and a parcel she had taken in for me. She said thank you for the presents I left on her doorstep last night and said she had called round but got no answer. I told her we were up and that once in the back room here we don't hear the door when the TV is on and now that Totty is going deaf we have lost our alarm!! We really should buy a bell.
I took a beef casserole out of the freezer for dinner and cooked some cauliflower an topped it with Panko crumbs and Parmesan cheese and grilled it and it was very good. I think I have been forgiven for Saturday's rubbish dinner now.
Jon didn't get home till gone 6.00 tonight and he finished watching F1 and we had dinner and cleared up.
I remember sitting down but that is all and it was nearly10.00 when I woke. Jon went to bed and I am doing my blog and then off to bed.
WEATHER
Torrential rain, strong winds and 16 degrees.
