Poor Totty!

I had not been in bed very long when Jon woke me to say Totty had had another accident!!! So rubber gloves on and scrubbing the carpet at 12.30!!

I eventually got back into bed and then we were up again at 3.30 with the same thing well, a bit more!! Scrubbing carpets at night is no joke. After that it was every half hour she woke me and I managed to get her outside each time. It was five o'clock the last time I took her out and then I couldn't go back to sleep and so was up just after 6.00.

I made a cup of tea while Jon was in the shower and watched some breakfast TV - what rubbish.

Heather called and we both had a chat to her. I had my shower and then called the vet to get an appointment and got one for 10.15.

The vet examined her for a long time and had two students with him so it took even longer but she was so good and allowed them to prod and poke her and didn't complain. He gave her two lots of antibiotics and he gave me a special tin of dog food, well not sure how special it is but it is very expensive. I could only give her a quarter of the tin at tea time today and see how she goes. He also gave me some sachets of electrolytes for her to drink so she is not dehydrated.

On the way back i popped into the post office to send a card and I went to buy a loaf of brown bread but with no grains or seeds as Jon needs to start his low fibre, no seed diet tomorrow.

I went into the pet shop to look for a harness for Totty as she seems to choke a lot with her collar now, not that she pulls much but I think her throat must be sensitive. I chatted to the lady in there who is English and been here for just over four years and she seems very nice.

When we got back we went straight out for a walk. I say straight out but it took me about 15 minutes to work out how to get the new harness on her! It seems to be much better for her and after a few minutes she was fine with it.

When I got back I finally did some housework which was long overdue and I have not dusted since before we left for the UK! It now all looks very nice and tidy.

The weather was really warm today and I sat on the deck reading when I had lunch and it was lovely.

I finished my housework and gave the vacuum cleaner a clean and changed the filter and washed the dust collector - well it is spring!!!

I was so tired and could not face my ironing so I sat and read my book till Jon came home.

I took a chicken, veg and chickpea curry out for dinner so it was nice and easy.

We stayed sitting at the table after dinner and watched some TV as if I sit on the sofa I will fall asleep.

Dishes done and now blog done so I think I might have to go to bed and it's not even 9.00 yet. I think I had better try and stay up a bit longer or I will be awake at 5.00 again.

I must remember to give Tot her antibiotics.
