The bog wouldn't let me type anymore so I have had to start a new post.
We got to a snack post and I was given three huge sugar canes to hold which although I had to hang on to them did give me more balance but once I had fed them to Bang along the way I was back to the same.
We came to a road which we crossed and it felt very odd riding an elephant on a main road! It didn't help when he wanted to cross to the other side and his trainer was chatting to the trainer behind! A scream from me soon brought him back and I was told 'no madam, make him go this way. Lol I have no idea how to make him go left or right!
It was at this point that Jon went past on the back of a motor bike with a smile on his face so I knew he must be OK.
A little further on we stopped and all got off. I could hardly walk and must have looked like Old Mother Riley. They gave us all a bottle of water and we all agreed it was much harder than we though and I was dripping with sweat.
We walked them down the road for quite a long way and it was nice to walk alongside an elephant chatting to him and it was really sweet as he kept putting his head to me.
We arrived at the river and Jon was there waiting. He said he just could not do anymore and Bertie had filled with wind and he was very uncomfortable. I think I overestimated his recovery.
We walked down to the river and the elephants went in and we went after them, so glad I had my reef shoes. One did a poo as soon as it got in and there was a lady there scooping them out of the water! Hmmm, really hygienic this.
iWeb were then driven to another farm to see a four month old baby weighing 100kg. It was so sweet and very naughty and tried to take Jon's glasses off. He likes standing on people's feet but when the trainer did it to him he got cross. The mother, who was huge, was there and happy to let us play with her baby. The mother had the most beautiful face and eyes and looked like she understood every word it was totally magical but a storm was brewing, with thunder, lightening, black skies and suddenly windy so we had to get in the cars.
We were then taken to get our photo cd which was included in the price, I can't wait to see them!
We were then driven back to Chang Mai where the streets were flooded after the storm but we had managed to miss it. We were very very sore after an amazing day.
We got to our room and showered to get rid of he elephant mess and I sent a bag of very dirty, wet clothes to the laundry.
We just went down the road for dinner and had a really good pizza and salad before going back for another early night.
What an amazing day and I wouldn't have missed it for the world even though I am sore from head to toe!
I had heard from my nephew that my sister had been taken into hospital and had surgery for a perforated ulcer on her small intestine and from what I gather and know about the condition it is very serious. Fortunately, she does not need a stoma but had had 8 inches of intestine removed and is in ITU. Fingers crossed she will be OK
