Another day and it started with keep fit this morning and it was so hot we were all exhausted after the class.I stayed for a cup of coffee and a chat and then came home.
I took tot out for a walk but not far as she won't walk again!! I left the doors open and she was out in the garden. She had been gone a long time so I went out to see what she was up to and I could hear her barking and it was coming from next door, the empty house. I had to run up about 20 steps to the deck into the house up another five steps, grab my keys and out round to the neighbour's. She was in a wooed area barking at a hedgehog!!! I got her back in and blocked off the stairs to the garden so she couldn't get out again.
I had my lunch and got ready to go to the Red Cross as I said I would help out as two ladies are on holiday. I don't think I will help again on a Tuesday as the two women on with me were pretty useless. One left at 2.30 and the other stayed behind the counter all the time. She went to move her car and then came back and went for a break leaving me on my own. When she came back she went back behind the counter and I was getting more and more angry as there were loads of clothes to be put back onto the racks that people had tried on. I asked her if that was all she did and she said 'Oh what would you like me to do?' I told her if that is what she normally does then nothing! She must have realised I was cross as she decided to put some things away. What is the point of being a volunteer if you don't do anything?
We closed the shop at five and I came home and fed the dog and let her out. she immediately started barking and when I went down to see why she had found another hedgehog but in our garden. I ended up smacking her on the bottom to keep her away. She is probably covered in fleas now.
Jon came home and found the space she got out and put some wire around so hopefully we will just hav the hedgehogs in the garden to worry about.
We had dinner and watched some TV and I did some ironing. I am really tired now!!
It has been really hot today and I hope it continues for the weekend as we have the Santa Parade.
