I was up just before six this morning and showered as quietly as I could when you have no door to the en suite!!! Jon got up anyway before I left.
I arrived at the book rooms just after 7.30 and there was already a queue waiting outside. We put the finishing touches to the room and tied up the balloons outside and the doors opened to the usual rush at 8.00. It still amazes me how many people come rushing in once the doors open. I didn't lift my head for about two hours after that as we were so busy and I was on the EFTPOs machine (taking debit card payments). The room was busy all morning and Jon came over about 11.00 and brought me a very needed cup of coffee. The sun was shinning in the window where we were and I was hot and also drank two bottles of water.
I went for lunch just after 12.00 and enjoyed the quiet of the empty shop next door were we had our tea/coffee facilities and a very welcome chair.
Back to it at 12.30 till nearly 4.30 and it was pretty much non stop. Lots of people came in and said hello which was nice and makes me feel very much at home.
I finally shouted out to everyone that we were closing and they needed to leave or they would just have carried on 'browsing'. We made the table tidy ready for tomorrow and then we all left.
I stopped off at the garden centre to buy compost and then went home.
Jon had painted all the deck furniture and it is pretty much all done now and just in time for us to have a bbq tomorrow - I love the sunshine!!
Christine called me and told me we had made about $16,000 today! GBP8,000 pretty good I would say.
So glad I had dinner ready and just needed to put it in the oven and make a salad. For pudding I made a Kiwi dessert and for the life of me I can't remember what it is called but it is whipped cream, crushed meringues, chopped berries and mini marshmallows all mixed together with some vanilla, I am sure Heather will remember what it is called as she loved it and it was very nice.
After a bit of TV it is bedtime and I think I can just about drag myself off to bed and I am so looking forward to it.
WEATHER
