We both got up early this morning as my clock said 7.55 and Jon's said 6.55. Fortunately Jon's was right and I am not sure what has happened to mine but the alarm has been going off at odd hours during the night but by the time morning comes I have forgotten about it.
Jon left for work and I wondered where to start and just ended up doing bits and bobs and didn't really achieve much. I was due to go and meet the landlord at the old house for an inspection and he needed to sign the paper for us to get our bond back.
I took Tot out down the road and she appeared to be in some discomfort on the way back up the hill. I am not sure if her foot is sore where I trod on her yesterday when she got under my feet - for the umpteenth time. Once indoors she just went to her bed but I could not see anything on her foot.
The landlord's flight was due in at 12.30 but it was delayed and didn't land till 1.10. I was on the hone to my friend Joan when he finally called at 2.15 and told me he had to go to Rotorua and would be back at 6.00 and could I meet him then. I was really annoyed as I had changed my plans to meet him at lunchtime but not much I could do. I asked him to make it 5.30 and he said he would text me.
I spent the afternoon doing odd jobs and at 4.00 I went out to the post office to send a parcel to our niece. I then went on to Payes Pa to collect a card table I had bought on trademe (Kiwi eBay). The lady knew I was coming and I texted her again but when I got there she was out. I rang her and she said she would not be back till 5.00 Gerry so I went home and had a cup of fruit tea to calm me down.
While I was home a man called to pick up the lawn mower we had sold on trademe. Jon had accepted the offer but the man had not said when he would call so it was a bit of luck he caught me in. Never mind it is a bit more room in the garage. I think Jon let it go too cheaply as it is not yet a year old but too late now.
I then went back across to Payes Pa to get the table and I am pleased with it and it will be ideal for Jon's jigsaws.
Jon was home when I got back and looked very tired. I started to prepare dinner and at 6.10 the landlord called to say he was at the house and where was I - a slight misunderstanding!!!! So, off I went to the house.
H was already inside so must have had a key. He said thank you for leaving it so clean and tidy and we chatted about the property and he took on board my advice about having a window in the east side so that it gets morning sun. He said he hates the cold and intends to spend Kiwi winters in Europe. All in all it ended well as I can see no point in having a confrontation with him and it was just as well I went on my own as I am sure the way Jon is feeling these days he would have said something and it is just not worth it. He didn't mislead us it was the agent and he did apologise for it and the building work.
I came home and fortunately I had a stir fry planned so it was quick and very yummy. It was a recipe by Brett McGregor who won the first NZ Masterchef, broccoli with beef.
After dinner I was so tired I fell asleep watching TV.
Jon and Bertie seem to be at odds tonight but I think it is due to the chemo tablets. I just hope he doesn't need to get up in the night as it makes him more tired the next day.
