Some warmer weather

I am feeling very sad at the moment. Over the last few days I have been keeping in touch with a friend from Lions, Margaret, she works for Jon and introduced me to Lions and she is a lovely lady. Her teenage grandson had an appendix operation on Friday down in Christchurch hospital. Sadly on Saturday morning he had a cardiac arrest and had stopped breathing, they don't know for how long. Things got really bad and has been on life support since. Sadly, I learned that this afternoon after a scan it was decided to turn off his life support. Margaret and her husband are now heading down to Christchurch to be with the family.

At the moment everyone who knows her is in shock as to how such a terrible thing can have happened for such a simple procedure. Amazingly, his older brother also had his appendix removed last week and was back at school in three days!! We will all just have to wait and see what happened and be there for her. It is so sad.

Makes you count your blessings, doesn't it?

Well the rest of my day was busy and I managed to get two loads of washing done this morning as it was a bright and sunny day. Unfortunately, due to where my washing line is, hanging sheets out is difficult so I gave in and used the dryer. I had done housework off and on over the weekend so I did ironing this morning to try and catch up.

I went out to my Pilates class and really enjoyed it again - two more to go and then I have to decide if I want to continue.

From my class I drove up to the book rooms and sorted books and puzzles. the sale is on Saturday and it is all looking very good.

I popped into a really nice shop up in Bethlehem and bought a couple of presents I needed for friends.

When I got back Jon was home. They have been telling him he is doing too much and so he decided to have an early day - finally he is listening to people.

We had a cup of tea and he watched the Grand Prix and I did more ironing.

We had an early dinner and then watched an episode of Frost. I took a photo of the sky at sunset through the window and it was really lovely tonight.

I ha been having a little snooze when I got the phone call about Margaret's grandson which really woke me up. I cannot begin to imagine how they must be feeling, in shock I should think at how fast it has all happened.

WEATHER
Sunny with some cloud 20 degrees
