We were woken up at 6.45 this morning by loud voices chatting in the drive and then we heard a lorry - it was the cement arriving!! Jon was so mad and got up and said 'the builder is going to know about this'. The next thing I heard him downstairs shouting at the men that it was far too early for this and we had agreed on an 8.00 start - Oh dear not a good way to start the day. I have never in our nearly 33 years heard him so angry. The men carried on pouring the cement.
I got up and showered and when I went downstairs Jon told me the builder said I knew he was coming today. Yes, he did tell me but he didn't tell me the time! Had he done so I would have smoothed things over and we would have been prepared even the neighbours said it was too early.
Jon was ready for work by 8.00 and the builder had gone leaving the men to finish the base and by the time I left at 8.45 it was as if nothing had happened. I can understand Jon being angry but I would have just left it as I hate confrontations now Jon says he is going to have it out with the builder that he didn't tell me the time so I now have Monday to look forward to! I will be glad when we have left here as every day there is something that happens to annoy and I can see no point in getting angry about it as it just makes us look unreasonable. However, I also understand Jon is on a short fuse and could really do without this.
I got to work and we had a really busy morning as somebody had donated a box of jewellery with some nice things in it and we had to price it all and it took us a long time to sort it and 'guess' how much it was worth. There was nothing of great value but some nice little silver bracelets and necklaces. Before we knew it was coffee time.
I left work and went to meet Carol and Diane for lunch. We managed to get a table outside and we sat and had a lovely lunch and a catch up. Carol has kindly said she will help with packing on Friday and Diane will come over if she can make it but she has a business thing to do for her husband.
I got home and it was gone 4.00 and I fed Totty. I did a few things around the house and then Jon came home early and we had a cuppa.
We had dinner and watched some TV.
WEATHER
A cloudy start and then sunny 20 degrees
