A visitor from USA

After all the rain yesterday we woke to a lovely morning. We were just about to take Tot out when Heather came upstairs to say Jane was going to call/ Tot's walk was put on hold and we had a chat to Jane.

We had to cut the chat short and get Tot out as we needed to be in Rotorua to meet Victoria. We left home late and texted her to say we would be late. Normally the trip takes 40-50 minutes but today it took forever and was made worse by getting stuck behind a car towing a boat.

We eventually arrived at her hostel and she was waiting outside with all her luggage - it must be difficult trying to get it all around.

We headed out to the luge but of course it was holiday weekend and the queues were so long we decided not to wait as it would have taken forever. We went back into town and went to the Fat Dog for lunch which, as usual, was very nice.

We then went to have a look at Lake Tarawera and then the Blue and Green Lakes before going out to Hell's Gate thermal park which was pretty impressive and very smelly. We enjoyed walking around there and seeing the 'hot' waterfall.

We drove home passing Kiwi 360 on the way for Victoria to have her photo taken by the big Kiwi fruit.

Back home I got the dinner sorted, roast lamb and roasted veg and lemon pudding which all went down well. Jon and I took Tot out while it was cooking.

We had a nice chat over dinner and then watched some TV. It is so warm again tonight and I still have the doors wide open. Last night we were sat round the fire and today has been hot again!!!!

WEATHER
Warm and sunny with some cloud 20 degrees
