Thursday and Friday

Thursday

We woke to heavy rain this morning and it was a horrible grey day.

I had decided to make mince pies to put in the freezer today so got on with the pastry as soon as I was up. I wasn't feeling particularly well but could not say what was wrong but I couldn't eat any breakfast and had a bad tummy with terrible cramps.

I thought it would pass but it didn't and it got steadily worse through the day. I made the pies and then just sat on the sofa and felt sorry for myself!!

I managed a bit of toast for lunch and a cup of green tea.

It was still pouring with rain but I had to go into Tauranga to buy some black paste to cover our two front teeth for the song we were doing for Lions Christmas dinner. Fortunately I managed to park outside the shop so didn't get too wet and was back home in half an hour.

I was by now feeling very bad and debated not going out tonight but as I had the music for our song on my iPad, the props and the Christmas music CD I didn't want to let them down so I got ready to go.

It was still pouring with rain and off I went but I was not in the mood. I did my best through the night but couldn't eat any dinner. The caterer came and asked me why I wasn't eating and I told her I wasn't well so they very kindly put a dinner on a plate for me and a Christmas pudding in a dish for me to bring home.

Not sure how but I got through the evening and we did our song which everyone thought was very funny. They told me to go home after the dinner and leave the cleaning up so I got out of doing the dishes.

It was still raining when I got out, I don't think we have ever had such a prolonged period of rain.

I got home and told Jon I had not been well all day and was just about to go to bed when Heather sent me a FB message to say she could go on Deskhop to sort out the problem I have had uploading photos onto FB.

She fixed it for me to upload a different way and told me it was a FB problem and not something I had done.

I didn't stay on long and went straight to bed. I feel like I have flu as every part of my body aches, especially my back and face. I just hope I will feel better tomorrow.

WEATHER
Very heavy rain 22 degrees

Friday

I had a pretty rough night and was up a couple of times needing water but it had to be cold so I had to go down to the kitchen to get it out of the filter.

I didn't get out of bed this morning as I felt so bad and I can't remember the last time I stayed in bed ill.

Jon brought me the phone and my mobile and asked me if I wanted a drink but I just wanted to sleep so he went off to work.

I tried to call Sharon at the Red Cross but there was no reply. I tried to call Les on her mobile but no reply. I tried Sharon again but no reply. I called Margaret, Sharon's mum, to make sure I had the correct number but no reply. I was just about giving up when the phone rang and it was Sharon from the shop. She said the phone had not rung but I did have the right number. I told her I was not well and would not be in. Unfortunately, Les had not come in again so she was on her own.

Heather called to see how I was and we had a chat.

I spent the rest of the morning sleeping and finally got up and had a shower. I went downstairs and sat on the sofa and fell asleep and the next thing I remember it was nearly 2.00 and I did feel a little better.

And that has been my day - sitting on the sofa. I did manage half a slice of toast and some hot water and honey. My dinner from last night is still sitting in the fridge which is a shame but the thought of it is uggh!

Jon had his fish and chips tonight but I didn't fancy anything. Hopefully, I will feel better tomorrow as we have been invited to a bbq.

WEATHER
Cloudy with sunny spells 24 degrees
