I rang my elderly neighbour this morning in UK to wish her a happy New Year and she sounded quite cheerful but I do feel for her not being able to get out and about.
I then rang my friend Mary and we had a catch up but I had to finish as I had a doctor's appointment so off I went.
I then went to see if I could buy some fresh tuna or swordfish down at the wharf but due to the bad weather they did not have much fish at all. She said they never have swordfish these days but has a system that she will text me when they get tuna in and if I want any I just go down to the wharf.
I then went and had a coffee before going to one of the better supermarkets and they did have tuna. The lady told me she would try and order me some swordfish from Auckland for the end of the week and she will call me. Better service than Tesco I think!
I bumped into my friend Sharon and her mum, Margaret while out and we had a chat. They are coming here for a bbq on NY Day.
I had a text from my friend Alison to say her new granddaughter arrived last night Zara Emily and she weighed 8lbs 12oz so a big girl and she was nine days late.
I got home and did some housework as the house was full of spiders and dead flies when we got back. I hung out two loads of washing but the rain came down and I got soaked bringing them back in.
Jon came home early as he said it is so quiet in the office.
I made chicken Caesar salad for dinner tonight, this has become one of Jon's favourite meals. I thought it would be easy but by the time I had finished cooking it looked like I had made a full roast dinner with lots of washing up to do!
We had dinner and watched some TV and then I sorted some photos for FB but so many to sort it is going to take me ages.
WEATHER
Showers and sunny 23 degrees very humid
