Saturday

We woke to another beautiful morning today. We are having wonderful weather this year, summer has arrived very early as this time last year it was still cold and very windy.

When we lived in Welcome Bay we used to buy eggs from a lady who had a stall on the roadside, they are free range and often double yoke and very good and I have missed them so this morning we remembered to go and buy some. It is not far but as she is only there in the mornings we usually forget.

We then went to the local garden centre for a coffee and I had my first iced coffee of the summer. Probably a million calories but very good. We say outside and it was so hot. We had a look around the shop and found a lovely metal duck which we bought to go with our collection of things we have for the garden whenever we get back to the UK.

We then went to look at some garden furniture and to the supermarket. We want to change our furniture for something better that will be worth taking back to the UK.

By the time we got back to the house we were very hot and although the official temperature was 25 degrees we had 29 on our thermometer in the shade!

It was too hot to sit out so we stayed indoors and had a relaxing afternoon with all the doors open to let in a breeze.

I made a 'speedy lemon tart' for pudding and it was speedy to make but it left me with lots of washing up to do!

Jon cooked a bbq and we sat out on the deck. I really enjoy a steak on the bbq and it is a shame Bertie does not like it as Jon misses out.

We sat outside till midnight and drank far too much wine but it was such a lovely evening. Jon thought he would regret the drinking of rose wine and I did give him a little brandy which he has not had for 18 months or more. Let's wait and see what Bertie thinks of all of that!

I was too tired to type my blog so we just went to bed.

WEATHER
Sunny 25 degrees
