I don't often feel tired but I am now feeling tired and think the book sale and our trip to Japan is catching up on me and I could not wait to finish at the Red Cross this morning. Hopefully, I can recharge my batteries this weekend.
The morning at the shop was not busy as far as customers go but I was kept busy sorting out rails and putting stock out. One of the staff brought in some kumquats which I haven't had for ages so took some to bring home with me.
I left the shop and stopped by the post office on my way to send a card and then went to see Wendy who is a lady who, although not a Lion, helps with the books. She was going to sell an Annabel Langbein book on Trademe and I said I would buy it. I found her house and got the book from her and we then walked around her garden which is lovely and she picked a big bag of tangelos for me to take home so I think I got a pretty good deal!
Back home I hung out the washing before sitting down to have my lunch and watch some TV. It is now very hot and too hot to do any ironing though I do have a lot to do - I will have to get up early one morning to do it.
I saw my neighbour walking his puppy while I was hanging out the washing and had a chat to him. They have lived in UK and Dublin for ten years or so and he seems very nice. I just hope their puppy does not get into our garden as I fear Totty will not enjoy the company!
Jon came home and we were watching the news and I heard Totty barking in the garden so went out to see why. She had found a hedgehog and was trying to pick it up. Not sure why the hedgehog was out in the heat but I managed to get Totty and bring her in and block off the stairs so she could not get down to the garden and the hedgehog made its escape.
We had our fish and chips and caught up with Coronation Street and now it is time for bed - at last!
WEATHER
