First day of the season at the beach

I was just too tired to do my blog last night so will just fill in for now and post it.

We had a lie in and then got up and Jon cooked himself some scrambled eggs for breakfast but I just had toast.

I got the picnic ready and took Tot out for a walk down the street but we didn't get far. On my way back I met the neighbour from next door (the other side) He is also called Dave and a young guy. Very pleasant and has been there for only three months and said if we need anything just ask which was nice of him.

We set off to the Mount and took the recycling on the way. You can tell it is coming up to Christmas as it was really busy with people having a clear out.

The traffic was pretty heavy so we went round the beach road and managed to find a good paring spot. We walked into the main street and were lucky enough to find a table at a cafe on the street. I had been a little worried as to how Jon would manage to stand out in the heat but we watched it in style in the shade. It was pretty much the same as last year and lacked atmosphere as there was not enough music but it was still nice.

We did a bit of shopping and bought a nice picture for the living room.

We went back to the car with the intention to sit in Pilot Bay and have our picnic but the wind was coming across the bay and it was cold so we drove round to the main beach and sat down there and it was very nice.

Unfortunately, Jon did not relax and as Bertie was playing up we didn't stay long which was a shame. I am not sure how Jon will cope on a holiday away from home if he can't relax on our local beach which is one of the reasons I have not wanted to confirm our booking to Norfolk Island.

We got home and I went and sat on the deck and read my book which was very nice and Jon stayed inside.

We had a cup of tea and I put some duck portions in to roast for dinner.

The duck was really nice and we both enjoyed dinner.

I was rather rosy from my first proper bout of sunshine this season.

WEATHER
Sunny and warm 23 degrees
