We had decided to go out for breakfast this morning and then have a walk something that Jon has not been able to do for some weeks.
Heather said she would call and she did but just for a quick chat, so nice to think she will be here in nearly two weeks!!
We intended to go down to the Mount for breakfast but we couldn't get a parking space so went into the main shopping area and had a really lovely breakfast at the same place we had coffee at the Santa parade. We both had eggs Benedict with bacon and it was very, very good.
We then walked around the shops and bought some good bargains as one of the shops is closing down and had everything at 50% off. Jon bought a couple of merino polo tops which are really nice.
We then drove down to the beach and parked and walked along. We didn't go too far as it is the first time Jon has walked any distance since his op but we both really enjoyed it and it was so warm and sunny.
We then went and bought a garden swing and a new summer duvet as the one I have in the spare room is not very good. We also bought another piece of trellis for the back steps and it will hopefully keep any dogs out and deter the cats! I live in hope about the cats, there are far too many here in NZ.
We finally got home and I made some lunch for Jon but I just had an apple.
We started to assemble the swing but it was so hot on the deck. I put the thermometer on the table in the shade and it was reading nearly 30! We went indoors and watched TV for an hour and then went back out and finished the swing. I am really pleased with it and so is Totty.
Jon cooked some lamb steaks on the bbq but as the sun was so low we had to eat at the side of the house in the courtyard bit.
We watched some TV and that is it now time for bed.
WEATHER
Sunny and warm officially 24 degrees - nearly 30 on our deck in the shade!
