I was up early and had my shower
and was ready to take Tot to kennels
just after 8.00. The main road through Welcome Bay was closed as they are laying pipes and need to connect the main one across the road and as there is not so much traffic at weekends they decieded to close the road on Saturday and Sunday.
Totty
nearly choked herself to death on the way. She went across from the front seat to the back and when she tried to get back her lead caught on the set and she couldn't move. I had to stop and try and release her but the lead was so tight I could not un clip it and had to struggle to release it from the seat. i won't be putting her leadon again in the car!! She was very good with the kennel maid and stayed with her while I drove off.
When I got back I did my packing and then had to start on Heather's and Jane's!!!!! They had a luggage allowance of 60kgs between them but they did not have space and we ended up packing one of our small cases for them. they now have three big cases, one small and two 7kg hand bangs!!! All for ten days!!!
Once packed we went to the local garden centre to meet Rachel from the office for coffee. We had a nice chat sitting in the sun till it was time to go.
We made good time and arrived at the airport and thought we would have lunch before checking in but the check in was open so thought we would get it over with and then we could relax. The check in girl gave them a row of four seats which they would have till Dubai but she could not guarantee it after that but at least that was the long stretch. All the luggage went through and although they were a little overweight she let it go as the plane was not full.
We then went to have lunch in the Aussie pub, Downunder which is really good. Jon and Heather had chicken pie, Jane had a chicken and brie wrap and I had and Asian plate. We sat and chatted and I have to say that is the worst part of going to the airport with the girls - I hate the waiting bit. Heather said they should go through at 4.00 and it was hard.
Heather was very upset and Jon was very quiet and didn't say much after that.
We found our way to hotel but did not have the harbour view we had booked and paid for!!!
Jon was not happy. Our view looked across to TVNZ and a block of apartments that looked like a Chinese laundry and not what you expect for the price we paid. Such a shame our usual place was fully booked.
Jon did not feel well and said his lunch had not agreed with him. We got changed and set off to find the theatre. We finally managed to find the entrance after walking round the whole block. My feet were killing me as it was the first time I had put boots on since September last year and my bunion was hurting sooooo much!!
We collected our tickets from the box office and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the theatre was and how big. We had a drink in the theatre bar but Jon was not hungry so we didn't go for dinner.
As we were going into find our seats someone shouted us and it was Bron and Peter who were there for his birthday treat but Jon was not in the mood to chat so we just found our seats. The theatre was big inside and we were very high up even though we had paid a lot for our seats. Unfortunately, and this seems to happen a lot to us, the people in front were 'big' and the women decided to sit on the front edge of their seats and lean forward making it difficult for Jon to see. I had restricted view but managed to see most of it. I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have as I knew Jon was not happy. Maybe we should have just gone out for dinner and nothing else but I thought it would be good to have our minds taken off the girls leaving.
We went straight
back to hotel which was not far but my bunion was killing me. I will never wear these boots again I made a coffee and ate the vege chips in the room
and I am looking forward to breakfast!
The
Girls are in Sydney now and hopefully they will have a good flight to Dubai.
WEATHER
Sunny with a chill wind 18 degrees
