Tuesday and back to a quiet house!

Well not sure where to start this day as we were on the plane and asleep till about 11.00 am local time when they woke us for breakfast so it is all a bit of a muddle. I had some very nice fresh fruit salad followed by a bacon roll and a croissant and jam, apple juice and a cup of tea and it was very nice, I didn't fancy the full cooked breakfast.

Due to the very strong headwinds and the terrible turbulents we were a little late arriving in Auckland but we touched down, very smoothly, at 12.50. As we were in Business we were off first and down to Immigration and as we now have residence here we can use the NZ channel and as there were no queues we got through first. Our baggage had priority labels on and so we were straight out and in the car and on the road by 1.20 which is pretty impressive.

I was so sleepy on the way back and I don't know how Jon managed to stay awake. We stopped to buy water and then carried on and fortunately the road was quiet.

We got back to Tauranga at 3.40 but as the kennels does not open till 4.00 we went to the supermarket to get some dinner and then went to collect Tot so that we didn't have to go out again.

I was glad we had collected the dog or the house would have been even more quiet than it was!! I kept myself busy unpacking cases and putting washing on and I got over the initial feeling of missing Heather but it is a physical pain in my chest but nowhere near as bad as the first time she left and I am sure I will soon be back into all my activities and be fine and I know she is more than happy to be home.
Our neighbour came round with the post and apologised for the state of the hanging basket. She said there had been some really strong wind on Saturday night and when she got up on Sunday the basket had been knocked over. I told her not to worry as it would have been in a worse state had we left it hanging on the back deck.

It was a lovely evening and Jon cooked some lamb chops on the bbq and we had a salad with them and enjoyed an episode of Coronation Street.

Jon went to bed and I downloaded some photos onto the computer and will get them sorted tomorrow or the next day.

Tot is very happy to be back!
