So nice to wake up to no rain. Still not the best weather this morning but a lot better than it has been!
I didn't wake till 9.40!!!!! Jon was up at 8.00 as he needed to go to the loo and thought it was too late to go back to bed - silly Jon!!!!
Jon cooked breakfast for him and Heather and a bit of toast was enough for me - you would think I had been drinking last night!!!!
After taking Tot out for a walk we went down to the Mount and it was really busy down there helped by the fact that a BIG cruise ship was in today.
We went to the Swiss Chalet for a coffee and a pastry which was very nice and after a little walk around the shops in the lovely sunshine we headed back to Welcome Bay only to find that the sun had not reached there yet!!!
We had a light lunch (one slice of cheese on toast each!!) and then spent the rest of the afternoon pottering. Heather went to bed for a sleep and Jon went into the garden to potter. I did some cleaning in the kitchen and found some not very nice corners that I have not got to yet but are now VERY clean and then I put some belly pork in to roast 'a la Jamie Oliver'!
After a cup of tea Jon and I took Tot out for a walk and then came back and had our pre dinner drinks while I finished cooking dinner. (I had to cook pasta and ham and a tomato sauce for Heather!!)
We really liked our belly pork - well done Jaime. I made a lovely pudding - whipped cream, crushed meringue, frozen raspberries and mini marshmallows all mixed together and known as Ambrosia here in NZ and I added some grated chocolate on the top mmmmmm!
After dishes Jon and Heather went to bed and I sat out on the deck for the first time in this house and it was a lovely evening so I had a coffee and an Amaretto yum!
I emailed the owner of the house today to tell him we have had a couple of leaks over the last few weeks possibly due to the extreme weather but still need attention. We also have a problem with the loos as they are not very efficient at flushing away all that is in the bowl - a delicate subject!!!
He said he knew about the leaks but not the loos and he would be coming to Tauranga at the end of Feb and would come and have a look. Meanwhile 'Do we know of a good, cheap plumber?' - NO we don't, not our problem!!!! end of story. I really can't see us being here for more than a year as per contract. Pessimistic?? - Maybe??
WEATHER
Some sun and 21 degrees
