Goodby Christmas

It was nice to see some sun again this morning even though it didn't look like it was going to stay around for long. I did manage to get all the beds changed, sheets washed and two loads of washing done and out and it was nearly dry by the time the heavy rain came.

I had a lovely email and lots of photos from Dr Jackson who I used to work with at the Rookery. I sent her a little present from NZ for her new baby and she wrote to say thank you which is more than a lot of people do when I send things!!! The baby is so sweet and she looks so well. I am really pleased for them.

I had had enough of the decorations so took them and the tree down today as I don't think I will have much time for that once Malcolm arrives.

I have noticed that my vacuum cleaner is not very good and didn't know why. I have to empty it after each use as so much fluff comes off the carpet and I am not sure how much cleaning the old couple who lived here did to the carpet. After cleaning the living room I went down to clean downstairs and the cleaner would not work and was quite hot. I found the book and it said to check the filters if it overheats so I did and my goodness were they blocked and as it was a new cleaner it is all from this house. I think I will have to get a man in to give them a good clean!!! Once I cleaned the filter I was amazed how well it worked!!

I took Tot out to the vet for her vaccinations and got soaked coming home - just walking from the vet to the car and I was soaked through!

I did my ironing this evening and made the dinner which was a bit of a mix as I am trying to use up things from the freezer to make some room.

I have all my menus sorted now and the shopping list done so just have to go and buy everything tomorrow. I only have to do the bedrooms and that it is. Jon goes up to Auckland at about 10.00 to collect Malcolm and all being well they should be back about 5.30

Heather finally finished packing her two boxes so we need to get them collected so that they will be home for when she gets there as they have all her winter clothes in them.

WEATHER
Cloudy with heavy showers in the afternoon 23 degrees
