A busy day

I drank far too much wine last night and woke early feeling pretty awful and wondering how I was going to get through the day at the Red Cross!! Silly me, why did I do it????

Tot wouldn't go for a walk and so just as I was coming back in the phone rang and it was Kirsty so we had a little chat before I went out to work.

I arrived at the shop feeling awful but it was just as well I went in as Les was still up in Auckland as her grandson was ill.

I managed to get through the morning - just. I couldn't face a coffee so stuck to the green tea and a small piece of the lemon and coconut cake that I made last night.

I kept busy and the morning passed and I felt better! I went home and picked Malcolm up and we went to meet Jon and Heather for lunch at the Classic Flyers. After lunch Malcolm and I went round the museum and then on to have a look at Jon's office.

Malcolm and I then went down to the Mount and had a look around the shops but it was soooo busy with two cruise ships in and the preparation for the Iron Man competition. Malcolm bought some presents to take home and some postcards. I was pretty impressed by this as it was only his first day!

We then went and had a cup of tea before getting back into the car to find a space closer to the Mount so we could walk around it. We were lucky as we got a space quite close to the hot pools.

The walk around the Mount was very nice as it was lovely and sunny and we stopped a couple of times and sat and enjoyed the views. By the time we got round to the port side it was nearly time for the cruise ship to leave so we sat and waited for it as it is very impressive.

Heather called to say she was on her way and where were we. She misunderstood where we were and ended up walking all the way round to meet us just as the ship passed by!!!

We got back and it was time for Jon to go and get the fish and chips which were very nice and I didn't have a glass of wine tonight.

The forecast is not looking good for the weekend and heavy rain warnings are out. I just hope they have it wrong like they do so often as it was forecast to rain today!! Poor Tot won't like being in kennels in the rain either.

Well I am off for an early night now and hope to catch up on some sleep

WEATHER
Warm and sunny 22 degrees
