Monday

It was really cold this morning but very light!! I need to put the winter duvet on for tonight. However, once the sun came round, and it does earlier now as it is winter, it was fine. Unfortunately, this meant that I was awake at 6.30 and got up at 7.00!!

I set to and did all my housework and Jon went for a walk down to the Mount and to change his books at the library. He is really getting bored now so the sooner we get away again the better for him.

I had been putting off lots of little sewing jobs like buttons on things so I got stuck in and did them all this morning.

I did my washing and cleaning and the house was ship shape by 12.30. I was due to go to Pilates but my back is still not right so gave it a miss.

Jon came home and we had lunch and then I went to the nail salon to have the gel polish removed from my toes that has been on them since February. I booked for a manicure and pedicure for just before we go to the UK so today she just clipped my nails but they feel better.

I stopped off at the wool shop and bought some wool to make the beanie for Sharon and one for Simone, Les' granddaughter. I found a really good crochet book which I bought. It has some easy patterns and tips and as I am pretty much self taught (apart from the help from my sister many years ago) I though it would be good to see how things should be done.

I got back and did some ironing. I am trying to keep up to date as I don't want to have mountains before we go away. I hate leaving a pile of ironing. Jon tends to wear shirts every day now as he is more comfortable in them rather than polo tops which I though he would be wearing as he is not at work.

I made a nice tray bake with coconut, cranberries, almonds and chocolate with condensed milk all on a biscuit base. I had left it to cool and cut it up after dinner and tried a piece - it was heaven!! I was going to have some cheesecake for pudding but after the slice I put it back in the fridge!!

Jon has been invited to lunch tomorrow by a man from the port so I quickly called two of my friends and invited them over to make the most of having the house to myself!! We will just have an easy lunch but it will be nice to catch up and they haven't seen the house since we moved in.

I cooked dinner and then we watched some TV.

My indigestion and reflux problems have started again today so I quickly started taking my tablets again as I don't want it to get like it was before Christmas.

Off for an early night as the early morning is now telling on me!!
