Clocks went back last night

I woke at a sensible time this morning probably due to the clocks going back!!

It was a bit cold though and as we don't get early morning sun it made it even colder.

I had breakfast and showered and then I went off to the Red Cross at 9.30 to help with the changeover and Jon went out for a cooked breakfast!!

I was glad I went to the shop as there were only four of us to do the whole thing!! We got stuck in and for the next five hours we worked hard. I opened and hung so many boxes of coats and jackets I would not even like to think about it. We had some snacks provided and it was quite nice chatting as we went. I did find some lovely jackets for myself which I will need when we go back to UK!!

I gave Bianca a lift home as her husband had the car and Sunday bus service is not the best. I popped into the supermarket to get our dinner and then went home.

Jon was sitting out on the deck reading and he is looking very well now with all the relaxation and the sun he is getting. He had enjoyed his breakfast and had then gone down to the Mount and walked up it!! His target was to do that by his birthday so he is well ahead, so proud of him.

We had a cup of tea on the deck in the sunshine. Our deck is lovely now, in the summer it was too hot but now it is just right.

I needed to sort out a few things for our trip to Chang Mai so I did that and then I sorted out our trip to the South Island. I wanted to plan where we were going and check on Google maps how long the distances are. We have booked our first night in Blenheim but the rest we will stop when we are ready. I had wanted to stay at my friend's sisters place in Kaikura but it is not going to fit into our schedule but hopefully we can just pop in to say hello and have a look at their beautiful B&B.

I cooked a nice piece of venison for dinner and we had some cheesecake for pudding.

We watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on TV and I enjoyed it as much as I did in the cinema.

I am now working on all the places we need to stop at on our trip so that we don't miss anything. Travelling is hard work!!
