I slept well but I don't think Jon did. I got up when he was in the shower to make his cottage cheese/flax oil breakfast mix which I don't fancy at all but he seems to enjoy it.
We have had so many lovely emails and messages from friends all wishing Jon well. He hasn't read them yet but will do when he feels stronger.
Once Jon had left for work I got on and did all my usual Monday chores - washing, cleaning, ironing and changing the sheets. I was stopped by quite few phone calls from friend here wishing Jon well and offering any help we may need which is very nice of them. Fortunately, by the end of the day all my housework was done.
I managed to get Tot out twice today and one one of the occasions met a lady from down the road who is from Singapore. We have chatted a few times as she has an old dog who is like Totty and not overly fond of other dogs jumping around on top of him so it is quite nice to walk with her.
Jon came in at 7.00 after having been to the gym. He said he was fine and that work had gone well. He took his sandwiches down to the beach and sat in the car to eat them which is much better than sitting at his desk like he normally does.
I cooked a very English dinner tonight, pork chops, mashed potatoes, cabbage, courgette and carrot with gravy. It is ages since we had a meal like that and it was very enjoyable. We had fresh fruit salad for dessert.
We watched some TV but I fell asleep so think I need to have another early night tonight.
I had contacted a friend in the UK who has a property management business to ask for the name of a carpenter and a painter and decorator as the girls have been trying to get some work on the house sorted out for ages and the carpenter says he will come but so far hasn't. My friend gave me a contact so I have sent it to the girls and hopefully they can get it sorted. I thought people were short of work in UK!!
