I woke at 7.00 and as it was so cosy I went back to sleep and suddenly it was 8.30!!! Not so for Jon, he had been awake for a long time and so had got up.
Heather called this morning and it was good for her to speak to Jon as he has not been able to talk to the girls but after speaking to Jane and Kirsty yesterday it was good for him to talk to Heather. I really don't think Heather will ever be able to travel lightly she seems to pack for England even though we have a washing machine here!!
We took Tot out for her walk and noticed a car parked outside our house which had bald tyres and no up to date registration or WOF (MOT) notice on the window. Inside, the car was full of rubbish, McDonald's bags and containers and drink cans and all in all it looked like it could have been abandoned. The owner from next door was cutting the grass ready for the new tenants to move in today and Jon asked him if he knew anything about the car and he said no but 'good luck with the council as they won't want to know'. Hopefully it does belong to somebody.
We went down to the local garden centre for a coffee and saw some lovely purple, ankle length gummies and Jon thought Jane would like them for the garden - I am not so sure!!
We got back and read the Sunday papers and I made a list of meals to have when the girls are here and will need to go to the supermarket later. I made beans on toast for lunch and Jon spent time sorting out his wardrobe and throwing out old clothes.
I went down to the supermarket and did the shopping and when I got back Jon made a cuppa and I got stuck in to making chilli con carne to put in the fridge for one of our meals. I also cooked a very nice dish with the rabbit we bought yesterday. Jon is finding big pieces of meat hard to cope with so I am trying to find some tasty meals that he will enjoy and he did enjoy the rabbit but I don't think we should tell Jane and Kirsty that we have eaten rabbit in view of the fact that they have two pet rabbits each!!
We took Tot out for a walk before it got dark and the abandoned car had gone so I imagine it must have belonged to a friend of our new neighbour and they were helping them to move in!!!!
I am getting really excited about seeing the girls on Tuesday and have a busy day tomorrow with more cooking for the freezer and getting their rooms ready. Heather has already asked me to make lemon squares so will need to do them tomorrow.
I have put the oil burner with lavender in our bedroom again tonight as Jon is really struggling now with lack of sleep. I think I might try chamomile tea tomorrow if he will take it.
WEATHER
Overcast for most of the day 19 degrees
