A solo trip to the beach

A lovely morning again today with sunny skies.

I managed to get the bin out to the kerb this morning and didn't injure myself. I must remind Jon not to go away on Wednesday nights so that I don't have to do that too often.

I took my morning cuppa (hot water and lemon) down the garden this morning and saw the horrible plant, that we had chopped back a few weeks ago, growing again and it was 'big' so I decided to get the choppers and cut it down. An hour or so later I had a huge bag of garden waste but you could hardly see where it had come from. I think we are going to have to pay for a recycle bin as I can see there is lots of stuff that needs to be cut back and the gardener is not going to get it all done in her two hours. It is just as well we are in a drought or the plants in this garden would be bigger than ever. I think the owner under estimated how much everything was going to grow.

I got back upstairs and the phone rang and it was Heather and we had a little chat. I had forgotten it was Mother's Day on Sunday but the girls hadn't and a parcel is on the way that I must not open till Sunday.

Carol called me to say none of the ladies were going walking today which was kind of her and saved me a trip.

I took Totty out for her walk and despite the various bin waggons we managed to get down the street and back again.

As it was so warm I decided to go to the beach for an hour. It is the fist time I have gone to the beach to sunbathe on my own. I have taken Totty for a walk but never to just sunbathe. I went down to Tay Street and bought a coffee and then went onto the beach. It was quite windy down there and with some light cloud to begin with it was rather cold.

I used a spray sun cream that Jon likes but I was not impressed with it. However, listening to my iPod I really enjoyed my time and was there for just over an hour. As it was a school day there were no children and so lots of kite surfers around.

I left to come home at 1.00 and had a shower and then lunch when I got back. I could feel my skin tingling and I look quite red which is the first time I have been sun burnt for ages. I will be going back to my regular suncream that you rub in and know where it goes, I feel very uncomfortable now.

I watched an episode of Upstairs Downstairs that we have recorded, it is not like the original programme.

I made a cake in the afternoon and put some chicken in a satay sauce for kebabs for dinner.

Jon came home about 6.00 and was tired so I watered the plants and I cooked my first BBQ, only kebabs but still.

I sent Jon down to have a look at my handiwork from this morning and he liked it so much he sat down there and had a beer!!!

We had dinner and watched Coronation Street and now it is time for bed.

WEATHER
Hot and sunny 26 degrees
