Wednesday

Jon was up bright and early and ready for his trip to Sydney. He wasn't looking forward to driving back through the Karangahake Gorge late at night when he comes back tomorrow but, thanks to Bronwyn, he now knows a different route and tried that on the way to the airport this morning which he found to be much better he told me when he called to say he was at the airport.

I had a nice video call with the girls this morning and was able to see David and Leo, Kirsty's rabbits - so sweet. I had to rush off and take Totty for her walk as I had arranged to go out for coffee with Bronwyn.

We went out to a garden centre on the Cambridge Road which has a nice little cafe. I had a lovely raspberry, lemon and apple muffin - very naughty!

Bronwyn's daughter is expecting a baby in June and so after coffee we went to a baby shop to have a look at some things that she wanted to buy for her. The Kiwis are very into knitting and she has knitted a lot of things for her, something we don't do so much in UK now.

I don't know where the afternoon went! I managed to get my washing dry before we had a little thunder storm and then watched the Ellen DeGeneres Show. It is an American chat show, I don't know whether you have that in UK but she is very funny.

I have been ironing Jon's long sleeve shirts as I think he will be needing them soon.

Jon called to say he had arrived in Sydney but that the taxi driver did not know his way around Sydney and asked 'him' where the hotel was!!! After consulting with another taxi driver they found it.

Not sure what I will have for dinner tonight - I hate eating on my own!
