It looked promising for our walk around the Mount this morning but it soon changed to rain. I texted Ros and we decided to take a chance and go for it.
I met her down at the base track and as I could see a cruise ship coming across the bay we decided to walk around the Mount from the left and so meet the ship coming in. We just reached the clearing and the beach as it came round the corner. It is the first time either of us have seen a ship arriving, most people go to see them depart at a sensible time in the afternoon/evening. This one was a little late docking and there was already another one in. It never ceases to amaze me how big they are and how they manage to get through a narrow channel but I am glad to see it every time.
We enjoyed our walk which was a little windy but at least the rain stayed away.
We went for a coffee after the walk and I was asking Ros about her son's wedding later this month. He is getting married in Auckland Zoo which should be great fun for them. They both love animals and are vegetarians so thought the zoo would be a good place to tie the knot.
I left Ros and stopped by to get some contact lens solution and some fish for dinner tonight.
I was going to go to aqua aerobics this afternoon and just as I was getting ready Jon came home and told me he had had to make a quick escape from work as Bertie was playing up and he continued to do so for the rest of the afternoon and Jon is now downstairs waiting for him to calm down after taking some tablets.
We had some really heavy showers pass through this evening but now it all looks calm and quiet again with a lovely sky.
We had dinner and watched some TV and then I read my book as it was getting to the end and very exciting. However, the end was a let down and it did not dot the Is and cross all the Ts and left me wondering which I hate - I like tidy!!
We have a bank holiday tomorrow, Waitangi Day, the day the treaty was signed between Maori and Europeans.
WEATHER
A dry start followed by showers then heavy rain and dry again. 24 degrees
