Aqua class this morning was cool as there was a chilly wind but we warmed up in the 'hot' pool after the class before having a drafty shower (the changing rooms are going to be revamped soon) and then joined the ladies for coffee. It started to drizzle and by the time we had finished and were walking back to the car it was heavy and miserable.
I stopped at the picture frame shop to ask if I could have a string put on the back of a big frame we have bought and filled with photos of our first year in NZ. The lady in the shop is Swiss and she put new brackets on the frame and new string and wouldn't charge me, so kind.
One of the ladies at the pool had told me about a secondhand shop that had new swimming costumes for sale and as the pool water is so hard on my costumes I thought I would check it out. I found three swimming costumes all new and it cost all of $18 so I am very pleased.
I got home and it was just as well Jon was late or he would have been home before me.
I went out to buy some fish for dinner from the supermarket but I was watching the miners in Chile being rescued, amazing job and so emotional to watch, how will they ever get over that?
After getting an email from the Rain Forest Express train to say they had tickets for the Saturday we are in Auckland I phoned them to book tickets. The train usually only runs on a Sunday so I was really pleased they had contacted me to say they had extra trips. I am not sure we will ever get up to that part of NZ again so would have been very disappointed.
Totty has been twirling around on her bottom again so I made an appointment with the vet to have her anal glands cleaned again! Unfortunately when he did them it made a bit of a mess on the wall and he had to clean the walls down. He did see the funny side of it. He asked me if I wanted to learn how to do it myself but I told him I was more than happy to pay my $17 and have him do it!!
We had some really good fish for dinner and I will certainly cook it again.
We phoned Jane for her birthday and had a nice chat to her.
WEATHER
Cool all day and cloudy. Rain started at 11.00 and was on and off for the rest of the day.
