We were up a bit late this morning and the computer was playing up as it had some new downloads on and took a bit of time to get sorted out so we were very late getting Totty out and when we did the big gate at the park was still locked so no cars could get in. Not sure why maybe the man, who lives down the road from the park, had a lie in, too. Still it was nice being in the park with no cars coming down.
We then went out towards Te Puna Quarry Park as the had an open day. We stopped on the way at a garden centre and had coffee then went on to Mr McGreggors farm shop to buy some strawberries and bananas before carrying onto the quarry. There were lots of cars there and we had to park a long way down the road and walk up the hill. There were lots of craft stalls there, a man doing chainsaw carvings and a main stage with various singing groups and it was just like a typical village fete. We bought some Indian snacks as we were hungry and enjoyed the walk around.
We got back in time for another late lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon me on the computer and Jon watching English football on TV.
We took Totty out in the afternoon and met Peter and Uppy and we walked back together, fortunately the dogs behaved themselves.
We had a nice, but very hot, pork curry for dinner with enough to freeze two more meals. We had strawberries for pudding but they are not as good as English strawberries. I am not going to buy anymore until they get a bit better, they seem to be glasshouse grown and a bit crunchy.
