We were up and out with Totty early this morning as we had a lot to do.Rotary Park was very sunny till you got to the end/corner and the wind blowing down the estuary was very strong and cold but back at the top it was lovely.
I had been told to try a shop called Briscoe's for a new iron so off we went across to the other side of Tauranga. This shop is always advertising lots of sales and they really do have lots of things on sale. We bought the iron with 50% off and I got some hair straighteners as mine are broken and the GHDs I want will need to come from UK and I am not sure how long they will take and as they are a Christmas present I should wait. These are Remington mini and due to the sale only cost £6 and will do for now. We also bought a frying pan with a lid that I have been looking for and Jon got an insulated bag to take his water and apple (and his sandwich if he ever needs to) to work. All in all very successful.
We then went to a little bar in the shopping centre and had a coffee and shared a date and walnut muffin which was very good.
On the way back we went to the driving range and hit some balls. I haven't been for a long time and I was surprised at myself as I did very well.
We came home for lunch and then went out to Te Puna Quarry with Totty. I love going there it is so peaceful and the views are amazing. We could clearly see a cruise ship in the port which looks tiny compared to The Mount but really big compared to the buildings!
We came back and I did my ironing with my new iron. The children next door are playing Christmas songs and Carols on a stereo in the garage and it feels very strange as it is very sunny and not at all like Christmas. I am not sure how I am going to like Christmas here, we'll see.
We are off to Napier tomorrow so I need to get the case packed and decide what to take.
I didn't get much packing done so will have to do that in the morning but we did enjoy dinner, asparagus, smoked salmon and poached egg mmmmmmm.
