Friday

We woke to a lovely sunny morning but by the time I had dropped off the car and was walking to work it was cloudy and getting much cooler.

It was just Les and I in the shop today as Sharon had to go to a meeting in Hamilton but it was fine as it was so quiet and we didn't sell much. In fact, probably what Les and I bought would have accounted for half of the days sales!!

After looking all winter for skirts I found three really lovely ones today and three tops so I was very pleased.

Jon picked me up from the shop and we went down to Bobby's which is a fish and chip shop and also a fresh fish shop near the port where the fishing boats come in. It is recommended in the Lonely Planet but every time we have been there the queues were too long but as our time might be coming to an end here in Tauranga we thought we ought to go and try. We were not disappointed, they were very good. The weather could have been better but we did manage to sit outside to eat them. Probably not as good as Manganoui up in Northland but still good.

Jon dropped me off to collect my car which had a service but needs to go back on Monday as they need to fit a seal on something and the part won't be there until Monday. The replaced my brake light and sorted out the bit of trim on the door which was lifting up a little so all good now.

I went home and Jon arrived just after me. We decided to take Totty out as we knew heavy rain was forecast for later. We managed to get round our route before the rain started.

I spent the afternoon doing my ironing and Jon did his jig saw.

Easy dinner tonight as we had a big lunch so just a sandwich and caught up with Corrie. Very sad, it was the episode where John Stape dies and Fizz plays the part really well and I was crying!!!

I then caught up with Neighbours. I really missed having the log fire tonight as the wind was howling and the rain was beating on the roof and the fire would have been so nice! Hopefully it will all have passed by tomorrow.
