Monday

I was so cold this morning when I got up to let Totty out at 7.30 and the heating wasn't on so I went back to bed for an hour and then Heather rang and we had a chat but their phone ran out of battery so she didn't speak long.

The gas heater seems to be using a lot of gas which is why it goes off. There is enough in the bottle to cook but not for the heater so I think it is going to cost us a lot of money if this cold weather keeps up for too long.

I spent most of the morning on then computer sorting out photos from out trip and there are lots of them!

I rang the surgeons secretary to ask when Jon would have his surgery and she told me she had just done the list up to 12 July with Mark and Jon was not on them. I explained to her that he was told the end of June and that we cannot sort out or make any bookings for our shipment back to UK till we know when he is going to have it. She said she would contact Mark and get back to me.

It wasn't long before she called me back and said he was in for 16 July and she would put a letter in the post.

Jon had gone into Tauranga for a coffee and to go to the library so I rang him but he was not very pleased about it. It now means we can't book any flight or sort out the furniture as we don't know how he will be after the surgery and how long it will take him to recover so it is probably going to be more to the end of August. Our rent is only paid for till end of August and we only have Jon's car till then, too.

So we are all over the place now and Jon is going to be bored out of his mind waiting for the next three weeks with nothing to do.

We had lunch and then I started my ironing. We brought most of the clothes back clean from holiday as we had a washing machine in the apartment but it still needed ironing! I managed to watch five episodes of Neighbours but I still have about 26 to watch, not sure I will ever get up to date!

I took spaghetti sauce from the freezer so didn't have much to do for dinner.

Jon has been very down and hasn't said much since he came back from Tauranga - it is going to be a long three weeks.
