Jon left early for Auckland this morning so I decided that I would go over to Bay Fair and see if I could get my hair done. I am not happy with the hairdresser I have been going to. It always looks nice when he does it but I have trouble doing it myself and after just a few weeks it needs cutting again.
Well I couldn't get an appointment for today so booked one for tomorrow. I went off and had a coffee, no muffin! I then went into Farmers which is a shop very much like Debenhams but smaller. I needed some jeans but was dreading looking for them as I find so many of them are so low cut and I like them on my waist. I tried 10 different styles on and settled on a very comfy pair and am really happy with them. I also bought a new pair of cropped sports trousers and then as they had an offer on of 30% off if you buy three items I looked for some black going out trousers but the ones I really liked were too big and they didn't have a smaller size so ended up getting 20% off for two items. It is the shops 100 birthday so they have this offer on. I then spent ages looking round the other shops before getting back for a late lunch and yes I had the rest of the lamb!
After taking Totty out for her afternoon walk I decided to make a lemon pudding I liked the look of. Well, it was so complicated and I think I used every mixing bowl, jug and measuring spoon and measuring cups along with mixer and grater and goodness knows what else to make it. Jon called in the middle of all this to say he would not be back till after 7.00 which was probably just as well!
We had some very nice fish before our lemon pudding which although very nice was hard work. The annoying thing is I found a similar recipe in an English book I brought with me and the instructions are far less complicated. I will have to make the English version and then compare.
