So much rain, so much snow and so cold!

It was really wet and cold today, just like winter again! No chance of Totty having a walk.

After my shower and putting on three layers of tops I was still cold and so put my dressing gown on but decided the best way to get warm was to do my housework and so I got stuck in and it was warmer.

When Jon came home at lunchtime he said it was freezing in the house and why didn't I light the fire but the problem with the fire is it causes so much dust on all the dark wood in the living room and I had just cleaned everywhere! However, by mid afternoon it was getting colder and even doing my ironing did not warm me up and the rain and the wind were hammering down so I lit the fire and the temperature went up from 10 degrees to 20 degrees very quickly.

They had a huge dumping of snow in the central north island yesterday and the desert road is closed along with the road from Taupo to Napier something that has never happened at this time of year for 25 years. There were 700 cars stuck on the Napier road, many of them for more than ten hours. We have been thinking of going to Napier, I'm glad we didn't go this weekend as we would have been on that road coming home at 3.30 in the afternoon when the snow fell.

Well the rain hasn't stopped so no walking Totty today, fingers crossed for tomorrow!
