Our first social event

The weather was very overcast this morning but we managed a walk in the park.

We went off to Bay Fair and had coffee before going into the electrical shops to look for a mini mixer/grater/whisk. I am doing a lot more cooking now and the food processor here at the house is only for large amounts and I needed something smaller. After visiting three different shops and back and forth I settled for a Braun. It was by this time pouring with rain.

We went to the main shopping area to look for some flowers to take to Bronwyn and Peter. We have been invited to their house this evening for drinks and nibbles to celebrate them being in their house for 25 years. Not sure what one does over here but I think flowers are always acceptable. We bought a lovely little posy of spring flowers all arranged with bows and coloured net.

After a late lunch we took Totty for an early walk.

We went over to Bronwyn's at 5.00 and as it was finally warm and sunny we managed to sit outside. Alison and her husband, Doug were there and we passed a very pleasant few hours. I asked Alison if she was up for doing the Fun Run. She said she had thought about it often but had never got round to it. I told her to think it over and let me know on Monday.Peter had made a very potent cocktail of white wine, sparkling wine and Drambuie - it was very good. It got a bit cool and so at 8.00 we came home.

Quite a busy weekend for us.
