Well the weather wasn't as nice as they said in the forecast but it was sunny but the wind wasn't good. I pottered about doing odd jobs for most of the day and I tried a new chilli recipe out to leave for Jon tonight.
It was soon time to set off for the walk and I noticed my neighbour, Kim setting off in the 'pink' T shirt like mine so she was off to the walk, too. Alison walked over to me and we set off and found a parking space on the edge of town with not too far to walk. We walked down Devonport Road to the start and there were many, many ladies walking down dressed in pink fancy dress. We got to the start and there was a lovely atmosphere and lots of people and a sea of pink. The radio station was there in a big van cum stage and before the start a keep fit group came on to 'warm us all up' and we had a bit of a dance. I met some of the teachers from the school where Alison works. The walk set off on time at 6.00 and with 5000 people the going was slow to begin with but it eventually spread out and away we went.
The walk took us about an hour and ten minutes and there was a little stop 1 km from the end for a small glass of wine from a local supermarket but I didn't have any as I was driving! We crossed the finishing line and were all given a Cadbury Pinky bar, I am not sure if we have them in UK. We stood around for a while and then decided to head off home and so walked all the way back to the car. Both Alison and I really enjoyed the walk and we both said we will do it again next year.
When I got home I had a glass of wine and as Jon hadn't started his dinner we ate together and the chilli recipe was very good.
But my bunion does hurt!
