I intended to do my weekly shop today and thought I would go to the supermarket about 12.00. Jon was not coming home for lunch today so I was in no rush. However, he called to say he had a change of plan and would be home so my trip to the supermarket would have to be later.
I eventually set off about 3.00 which was a bad time as the schools were coming out and there were school buses and cars everywhere. The supermarket is up Cameron Road which is the main road through Tauranga out to the residential areas and it was really,really busy - I haven't seen so much traffic since we were in Wellington. It took me about half an hour to do a ten minute journey. To add insult to injury I had forgotten my list when I got there and didn't get half the things I needed so we will still need to go to the supermarket and butcher tomorrow and the forecast is for heavy rain all day! Still it's fish and chip night tonight so that is a treat to look forward to.
