Jon left for Auckland this morning till tomorrow. I gave Rene a quick call in Newmarket. She sounded well and was only in hospital for one day and as she had no temperature she was allowed home. I couldn't believe it, breast removal in one day! She has to go back in March. I hope she will be OK. She does very well for 86.
I left early for my swimming class so will have to take Totty out later. The class was good and the temperature in the pool was 33.1 degrees. The temperature in the other pool we go into after the lesson was 38 degrees. It started to drizzle again during the class and it is strange being in a pool in the rain!
Les was at the class and told me that she will have to return to S Africa as she cannot get a visa. She is here on a visitors visa and they have extended it to September so she will have had a year here. It is quite mad really as she has to pay to go back and apply from there and it could take 3 weeks or three months, just as well she has family there. Immigration is a difficult thing the world over. Another friend Carol is due to go to UK on 1 March to be with her son and daughter in law for the birth of her first grandchild and she applied in January and so far she has nothing and they say it could be another three months, so she is in a bit of a state.
We all went for coffee after the class, about ten of us and had a nice chat. I was in no rush as Jon was in Auckland.
I got back and took Totty out and then just did this and that and too much time on the computer.
I drove up to the hospital as I was not sure where to go or where to park for my appointment tomorrow and didn't want to leave it till the morning as I wouldn't have time for getting lost. Looks easy enough to park and I found my way to outpatients so I should be OK for the morning.
I took Totty out again in the evening and then cooked a baked potato with tuna for my dinner and I wasn't going to have a glass of wine but I did. I really must cut down on food and drink as all this staying in hotels and having dinners out has put on quite a few extra pounds and I don't like it.
WEATHER
Still humid and overcast.
