We woke up to cloud but it was not as bad as yesterday which, according to the news left lots of rivers flooded and people cut off and lots of slips on the main roads. That said where they really need the rain in the north they only had a few showers.
We went up to the Kaimai Cafe for breakfast and Jon had the mega breakfast and I really don't know how he managed to eat it all but he did. Jane and I were sensible and went for the smaller option and it was all very good.
After that we went up to McLaren Falls and they were really flowing. We tried to convince Jane that seeing it like this was good as usually it is not much more than a trickle at this time of the year - she was not convinced or impressed!
We then had a drive through the park which was very pretty.
Back for a late lunch and then we took Totty down to Papamoa beach for a walk and it turned out really nice with a bit of sunshine breaking through.
Back home for the evening and we had a very nice leg of lamb for dinner and because it was not too hot we didn't all bake when the oven was on!
