After taking Totty out Jane and I went into Tauranga shopping for souvenirs for her to take back. We then went for a drink and sat in the sun outside a cafe. We had a quick walk around the town and then drove to Maketu and Kiwi 360 via the harbour bridge which she had not been over.
We went down to Maketu for lunch and bought one of the famous pies and went to sit by the beach to eat it. We then had an ice cream for pudding before going up to Kiwi 360 to buy the Kiwi berry cuddly toy she had seen when we first went there.
When we got back it was really hot so Jane sat on the deck in the sun while I did a bit of housework.
When Jon came home we drove down to the Mount so that we could walk up it. Although it was evening it was really warm and Jane struggled with the walk and wanted to turn back but we convinced her to carry on and when she got to the top she was glad she had.
There were some hang gliders there just running off the top, it looked like fun but it is not something I would like to try. They were flying around at the top and having a great time. We got back down and as I had left chicken in the oven thought we better get home and have a well earned beer there in case the chicken was burnt. Just as well we did as it was ready and another half hour we would have had burnt dinner!
WEATHER
Very wet to start but sun came out and was hot, by the evening it was really hot.
