Sunday 2nd day at the air show

It was up and out for a quick walk with Totty as the air show was due to start promptly at 10.00 and there would be more traffic today.

When we got there it was busier but not as bad as trying to get into Duxford. Jon was waiting in the coffee line when it started and the opening was very good with a battle and fireworks as pretend guns all very good.

We found a place for our chairs and it was really hot and very busy with people putting up gazebos and sunshades and marking their pitch and we drank our coffee. Jon saw Grant in the hospitality tent and went to ask him if he had room for two little ones and he said of course so we put our chairs away and went to sit in comfort. There were drinks and nibbles and cheese and biscuits and fruit during the morning - I declined a glass of wine at 11.00! But I was asked so many times that by 12.00 I gave in. Lunch arrived at 1.00 and it was excellent with lots of finger food and sandwiches and lovely pizza squares. Off and on through he day people came and went with their children and we had a really good view of everything and it was a lovely day. It ended with a race with an Audio car, don't know the model but it was very fast, and a jet racing along the runway.

As the show took place at the airport there where flight coming in, about three coming in and then departing so the show stopped for that. it must have been very strange for the flights coming in to such a huge welcome!

When we got home we were very tired and fortunately I had taken spaghetti sauce out of the freezer so just had to cook the spaghetti and make a salad for dinner.

We should have been in Rotorua this weekend with Malcolm and in hindsight it was probably not such a good idea to have him arrive as Jane left as we would have been shattered. So hopefully when he gets better and re books we will be able to show him around calmly and not be worn out.
