Racing AND Cricket

We were up and took Totty out to Rotary Park.

I then got a picnic ready and we went out to coffee followed by the races.

There were more people than the last time we went, in fact, it was very busy. We did really well picking out horses to begin with and we had a first, mine, and Jon got the second in the first race. We did very well until the last couple of races but all in all only lost $2 over the whole day.

It was the Summer Festival and so there were lots of families around with picnics and gazebos and sunshades. In between races they had races for the children and one of them was the three headed T shirt race and was very funny. In the egg and spoon race they use fresh eggs!

We had our picnic sitting on the grass bank and then went back to the stands as it was so hot. We stayed for six of the nine races and then onto our next event.

We went to Bay Oval where they were playing the first of the HRV 20/20 tournament. There were many big name players but the biggest was the captain of the NZ side. It was very relaxed and very exciting as it went down to the last over.

We then made our way home and let Totty out, she must have been disparate!

Jon went out to get fish and chips but it must have been an off night as it was not as good as it usually is on Fridays.

Still haven't heard anything from the girls so they must be OK.

We watched James Bond Quantum of Solace - what a load of rubbish worst Bond film I have ever seen. We didn't know what it was about, rubbish!

WEATHER
Really hot and sunny all day.
