I slept very well and the alarm call came through at 4.50 - ten minutes early! The car was collecting us at 5.55 so we both got up and showered and were waiting in the entrance when he arrived in a very nice Cadillac limo in black this time.
We arrived at the airport and checked in and were in the Emirates lounge having breakfast by 6.45! It is a different world travelling business class and one I could easily get used to. The Emirates lounge at Brisbane is new and built down near the departure gate so you just walk straight to the plane. We had a lovely breakfast and then I went onto have a look at my emails where one of the waiters came round to ask if I would like a glass of champagne! It was 7.15!!!!! Our flight was 10 minutes late arriving from Dubai and then when we did board there was a delay taking off as so many planes were landing but sitting with a glass of champagne makes it easier to bear!
The flight back was very smooth and I watched 'My Sister's Keeper' which was a big mistake as I cried nearly all the way back and looked very red eyed! Lovely film though!. I really wasn't hungry after the breakfast we had eaten but they brought round some very nice nuts and I thought I would take them home with me and then I remembered the VERY strict laws they have in NZ and had to leave them. They served brunch which was a lovely fruit salad followed by scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes and spinach. I ate the fruit and eggs but couldn't eat anymore and had to leave the lemon curd tart.
I managed to take some good photos of Auckland when we were landing and then it was all over! Back to the real world! But we would be too late to get Totty tonight!
The Air New Zealand mini bus was waiting for us along with a crowd of people waiting for Lily Allen to arrive. The car had been washed and they put the cases in the boot and we were on our way, all so smooth.
We arrived back in Tauranga at 7.00 and popped into the supermarket and did a bit of shopping - a ready roast chicken being the main item - and then we got home and had a nice salad and the chicken. We were very ready for bed tonight and it was nice to be back but we need the dog to make it feel like home!
