Tuesday

I was up very early this morning, 7.00! Heather needed a lift to the station as Jason was taking her car in for the recall work and she was getting the train. Kirsty and Heather are going to see Kasabian in Brixton. Kirsty will drive and then drop Heather off at 1.00 a.m. It is more than I would do on a work night, good luck to them.

Jon and I went over to pick Jane up and go into Ely shopping. As it was so wet we just went to Sainsbury's nice coffee shop and had a coffee. We then did some shopping there, such a lovely spacious shop to walk around and they have some lovely clothes.

We then went across to Aldi as they sell some really good NZ wine, one of the few places you can get it. Well, that is not strictly true if you like Sauvignon Blanc there is no end of it in all the shops but I only like Chardonnay or Pinot Gris and NZ seems to keep all of that for themselves!

As we left there Jane had a call from her solicitor to say that the purchaser of her house now wanted to move on 10 December and they had everything arranged for 12 December so she was a little miffed about it all as she was thinking they could not manage to do it. After speaking to Jason and the removal people it is now all arranged for 10 December. Poor things they have had such a stressful time of it and I will be happy for them once they are in and she can get her Christmas tree up!

And all through this the little man just sits and smiles in his pushchair, falls asleep, wakes and smiles some more. Such a little treasure.

We got back to her house and then we drove home to have lunch.

I had bought a tiny poinsettia for Rene as she did not like her big one and I took it over to her with two ice cream cones which she said she fancied.

She told me she had a job for me to do and gave me the application form for the emergency pendent alarm that we requested months ago. Amazing how it has just turned up and she doesn't know where it has been, crafty old woman. The postmark on the envelope was 7 October! Not sure why she has now decided she wants to go ahead with it. she told me her friend up the road had one and her daughter had filled the form in for her. She said "I don't have a daughter but I nearly have one across the road and she will fill mine in". Hence I got the job. At least that is a good move. I filled it in but she can't remember her sister's address and she is next of kin so we will have to wait until her nephew comes on Friday to ask him other than that it is ready to go.

I came back home and it was by now too dark to start my painting so I settled down to write my Christmas cards and got on very well with them so not many left to do now.

I cooked spaghetti bolognaise for dinner which we haven't had for a long time and we both enjoyed it.

We watched some TV and now I am off to bed but I don't expect I shall sleep till I hear Heather come in.
